In Romestead, you set out on a journey to rebuild the fallen Roman civilization. While building your settlement, you will encounter many dangers, such as wild animals and hostile monsters. Avoiding enemies is not always possible, especially at night when monsters spawn more frequently and can easily overwhelm you.
To deal with this, Romestead allows you to skip the night by sleeping, similar to survival games like Minecraft. This guide explains how to sleep in Romestead and safely skip the dangerous nighttime.
How to Sleep in Romestead
Before you can sleep in Romestead, you must unlock a few things in your settlement:
- Build a Workbench
- Construct a Leatherworker building
- Build an Empty House
- Recruit a citizen to join your settlement and become a leatherworker.

Once you have a citizen in your settlement, assign them to work as a leatherworker. After that, enter the Leatherworker building and place an order for a Leather Bedroll. You will need 2 Leather, 2 Wool, and 1 Wheat to make one Leather Bedroll.
Wait for the leatherworker to craft the item. When it is ready, collect the Leather Bedroll.

Next, go inside the Empty House you built earlier and place the Leather Bedroll on the ground. You can now interact with the Leather Bedroll to sleep and skip the night in Romestead.
Sleeping on a Leather Bedroll also sets it as your respawn point. If you die while exploring the dangerous world outside your settlement, you will respawn at your Leather Bedroll.
However, keep in mind that sleeping in Romestead only skips the night. It does not fully restore your health.
