In Genshin Impact, our Traveler sets out on a journey to find their lost twin. While this journey is far from over, HoYoverse has made sure the Traveler doesn’t get lonely by introducing charismatic, beautiful, and sometimes downright adorable characters. While most of the characters you meet and interact with during quests are usually playable, some are world quest exclusives. The worst part is that you will most likely never see them again.
Almost all world quests end with a tear-jerking story, which usually leaves me in tears. But what makes it worse is knowing I’ll never get to see these characters again in a quest. I’m sure many other Genshin Impact players feel the same way. I know there’s a reason why these characters don’t reappear in quests, usually because they went on a different journey or are figments of the past created due to leyline disorders. But let’s imagine for a moment that the laws of Teyvat don’t exist. In that case, here are the 7 characters I would love to see again in Genshin Impact.
7 Genshin Impact World Quest characters I want to meet again
7) Scylla

Scylla is one of the most memorable NPCs I’ve met in a world quest. His story in The Last Day of Remuria quest was emotional, a fallen prince sealed for 2000 years, still holding on to his pride, regrets, and sense of duty. Despite everything, he was kind, respectful, and even a little funny.
I really want to see him again, not just because his arc felt unfinished but because he showed genuine curiosity about Neuvillette. If Neuvillette ever gets a second story quest, it would be the perfect chance to bring Scylla back. They’re both tied to Fontaine’s ancient past, and seeing them meet could give us something truly special. Who knows Scylla might even be playable in future? Fingers-crossed!
6) Ruu

Ruu is one of the most unforgettable NPCs in Genshin Impact. His quiet strength, gentle nature, and love for singing stayed with me long after I finished the Tsurumi Island world quest. Despite the sadness surrounding his story, he never lost hope or kindness. There’s something deeply touching about a child who continued to wait, sing, and believe, even after centuries alone. I still remember how emotional it felt to hear his voice one last time on Seirai Island.
I would love to see Ruu again someday. Even a small appearance would mean a lot, maybe as a traveler, finally exploring the world beyond the fog like he dreamed of. He deserves peace, but also a future. And honestly, if we can meet him again with a smile on his face, I think that would bring closure not just for his story, but for many of us who still think about him from time to time. Unfortunately, that will most likely not happen, but a man can hope.
5) Liloupar

Liloupar is a fascinating and tragic figure in Sumeru’s history, and I can’t help but feel a sense of respect for her despite her complicated past. A Jinni who was once bound to Nabu Malikata, she lived through the rise and fall of many kingdoms, and her journey is one of love, betrayal, and revenge. Her actions in Gurabad, particularly her curse that lasted through three generations, show a deep pain, but also a sense of duty to uphold her beliefs, even at great personal cost. There’s something striking about how she chose to wield her power, not just for destruction, but as a way to try to correct the wrongs she saw in her world.
What truly draws me to Liloupar is her unyielding pride and strength. Despite her tragic past, she never let go of her agency and sought to reclaim what was taken from her. Even in her bottle form, she still holds great presence. I would love to see Liloupar’s journey continue, especially as she reunites with her children and confronts the consequences of her past. She is a reminder that redemption isn’t about erasing one’s history, but owning it, which makes her one of the most compelling and complex characters in the game.
At the end of The Dirge of Bilqis quest series, we find out that she returns to Gurabad to reunite with her children. Gurabad could be an isolated region in Sumeru, which might be introduced in the future. Since all other regions have isolated underground areas except for Sumeru, it is possible that we might get to explore Gurabad in the future, where we can meet Liloupar.
4) Rana

Rana has always stood out to me, especially as one of the few NPCs who receives a Vision. Her journey in Aranyaka, fighting the Withering corruption and finally getting her Dendro Vision, was a big moment for her. Even though she was stuck in a green bubble while we did the work, it felt rewarding to see her get the vision after spending hours completing the quest series.
What makes me want to see Rana again is how much potential her story holds. Her bond with the Aranara and the journey she starts after gaining her Vision leave so many possibilities unexplored. HoYoverse hasn’t shown her much since then, and I can’t help but feel there’s more to her story. I hope we get to see her again soon.
3) Zhiqiong

Zhiqiong was someone who wanted more than anything to leave her mark on the world, to prove she was worth remembering. Watching her map out The Chasm with such passion made me admire her, but it also worried me, as there were grim hints about her health. She gave everything she had to that journey, even when it began to take a toll on her mind and body.
In the end, she vanished into the darkness she tried so hard to chart, and all we have left is a letter filled with regret and unfinished dreams. I know her ambition was real, and her courage undeniable, but I still find myself wishing things had ended differently for her. I miss her because of how her story felt so human. Maybe one day, we will find a trace of her again.
2) Jeht
Jeht’s story has always stuck with me. She starts off as just another desert mercenary helping with a ruin expedition, but quickly becomes someone who carries a heavy legacy, first with her father’s death, and then with everything she learns about the Tanit tribe. What makes her so memorable to me is how fiercely she tries to stay true to herself, even when everything around her falls apart.
Watching her lose her family, be betrayed by the tribe she tried to call home, and then be forced to fight the very people she once trusted—it was rough. And yet, she never gave in. She chose to walk her own path, leaving everything behind to chase something better. That final goodbye, where she parts ways with the Traveler, was such a quiet but powerful moment. Even now, knowing she’s out there leading a mercenary group, still fighting her battles… it’s hard not to miss her. Hopefully, she makes an appearance along with Liloupar in Gurabad if it happens one day.
1) Little One

Little One started off as just a tiny Tepetlisaur whelp, but he quickly became so much more. From the moment I gave him a name, he stayed by my side through everything. We faced ancient threats together, wandered through forgotten ruins, and met people who changed us both. He never spoke a single word, but somehow, I always understood him. He wasn’t just a companion. He was a part of the journey, and in many ways, the heart of it.
After all we had been through, I thought we would keep traveling together. But when the time came, he chose something different. He wanted to find his own path and see the world for himself. I watched him go, feeling proud but also incredibly sad. I know his story has only just begun, but I already miss him. And deep down, I hope one day we’ll meet again.
