How to craft?
By placing the items below on a crafting table in a specific pattern, anvils can be crafted.
Items needed to craft an anvil:
- 4x Iron ingot
- 3x Block of iron
How to obtain required items?
Iron ingots: The primary source of iron ingots are iron ores. These ores generate underground in all Overworld biomes, commonly at Y level 255 in Minecraft 1.18. You can mine these ores using a stone pickaxe or better.
Upon mining iron ores, you will get raw iron, which needs to be smelted in a furnace to produce iron ingots. Iron ingots can also be found in small quantities in the chests of many structures such as villages, strongholds, end cities, and jungle temples.
Block of iron: These can be crafted on a crafting table using nine iron ingots. You may also find them in the chests of Bastions.
Crafting Recipe
Acquiring the required items shouldn’t take long. Once you have done so, use a crafting table to craft an anvil by placing the items as shown in the above image. Then you can collect the anvil from there.
What does an Anvil do in Minecraft?
You can rename items and block, repair items, enchant items, and combine items and enchantments using an anvil. To perform any of these tasks, you will need experience levels.
Repairing and Renaming
To repair an item, you need to place the item in a slot, and an identical item or the base item used to craft it in the other slot. For example, you can repair an iron pickaxe by placing another iron pickaxe with it or iron ingots on the anvil. One material will restore 25% of the item’s durability.
Renaming an item using an anvil is quite simple. You can do so by placing it on the anvil and typing a name, as shown in the above image.
Enchanting items and combining Enchantments
If you have an enchanted book, you can apply its enchantments to any item that can be enchanted. Simply place the item and the enchanted book in the slots of the anvil as shown above and collect the enchanted item. Two books with the same enchantments can also be combined to get an enchanted book with higher-level enchantments.
