While being a gacha game, Genshin Impact is still pretty generous towards its playerbase. Every update either offers a free character or weapon. Travelers can participate in every patch update’s main event to get valuable rewards like Primogems, Crown of Insight, and obviously a weapon or character.
As the current 3.2 patch is giving away Dori for free, the next patch will bring a free weapon. Genshin Impact 3.3 patch’s main event, Akitsu Kimodameshi, offers Toukabou Shigure, a 4-star sword. Akitsu Kimodameshi event takes place in Inazuma, the land of Electro Archon. Toukabou Shigure is inspired by Kasa-obake, the popular yōkai from Japanese folktales, which isn’t surprising as Inazuma represents Japan in Teyvat.
In this article, we will look at Toukabou Shigure (or Floral Rainfall) and talk about characters who can best use it.
Toukabou Shigure: Stats, passive, and materials needed
Toukabou Shigure has a max base attack of 510 and offers 165 Elemental Mastery as its secondary stat. Since the release of Sumeru, Elemental Mastery has become a vital stat for many characters and playstyles.
Toukabou Shigure’s passive effect Kaidan: Rainfall Earthbinder at Refinement Rank 5: After an attack hits opponents, it will inflict an instance of Cursed Parasol upon one of them for 10s. This effect can be triggered once every 15s. If this opponent is taken out during Cursed Parasol’s duration, Cursed Parasol’s CD will be refreshed immediately. The character wielding this weapon will deal 32% more DMG to the opponent affected by Cursed Parasol.
Compared to the last few free weapons, Toukabou Shigure is pretty good and comes with a decent passive effect. Here are all the materials needed to level up Toukabou Shigure to level 90:
- 761,000 Mora
- 597 Mystic Enhancement Ore
- 10 Old Handguard, 15 Kageuchi Handguard, and 18 Famed Handguard (dropped by Nobushi)
- 15 Damaged Prism, 18 Turbid Prism, and 27 Radiant Prism (dropped by Primal Constructs)
- 3 Narukumi’s Wisdom, 9 Narukumi’s Joy, 9 Narukumi’s Affection, and 4 Narukumi’s Valor (available in the Inazuma Weapon Ascension domain on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday)
Now, let’s look at the best characters for Toukabou Shigure in Genshin Impact:
Which Characters can use Toukabou Shigure in Genshin Impact
1) Kaedehara Kazuha
After knowing Toukabou Shigure has an Elemental Mastery sub-stat, most travelers would think of giving it to our dear boy, Kaedehara Kazuha. He is among the best support characters in Genshin Impact. The only other competitor of Toukabou Shigure is Iron Sting.
R5 Toukabou Shigure is free, so F2P players are recommended to use it on Kazuha. This weapon boosts Kazuha’s overall damage output more than Iron Sting. Just make sure that he has enough Energy Recharge to use his elemental burst consistently.
2) Nilou
Nilou is a 5-star support character for Dendro and Hydro characters. Her passive talent turns regular blooms into bountiful cores, which burst quickly and deal more damage. Toukabou Shigure is a solid F2P option for travelers who use Nilou to trigger Bloom reaction. Since there are no 4-star or 3-star swords with HP%, F2P travelers will have to use weapons with Energy Recharge or Elemental Mastery on Nilou.
3) Keqing (Aggravate build)
With the introduction of Dendro, Electro characters have received a decent damage boost in Genshin Impact. Many travelers have started playing their benched Keqing. Toukabou Shigure is a good weapon for Aggravate Keqing with a 4-pc Thundering Fury set. Since aggravate boosts Electro DMG based on the character’s Elemental Mastery, Keqing can benefit from Toukabou Shigure’s sub-stat.
4) Kuki Shinobu
Kuki Shinobu is the queen of Hyperbloom teams in Genshin Impact. When she first came out, many travelers thought her kit was weird and clunky to use. Thanks to Dendro, Kuki has finally found her place in the Genshin Impact meta. Her elemental skill has almost the perfect Electro application for triggering Hyperbloom reactions.
Kuki Shinobu’s only 4-star EM sword options are Xiphos’ Moonlight and Iron Sting. Xiphos’ Moonlight is a gacha weapon, while Iron Sting is a craftable weapon. Travelers can get R5 Toukabou Shigure for free, and it works just as well as other 4-star EM weapons or even better.
5) Dendro Traveler
Dendro Traveler is better off with a weapon focused on Energy Recharge as he is Dendro support character. However, if players want to deal decent damage with Dendro traveler, they can use Quicken DPS team. Like Aggravate, Quicker boosts Dendro DMG based on the character’s Elemental Mastery. Toukabou Shigure is suitable for stacking Elemental Mastery on Dendro Traveler.
6) Reverse-Melt Kaeya
Kaeya is one of the oldest characters in Genshin Impact and has different playstyles, such as Cryo DPS, Physical DPS, Burst DPS, and Reverse-Melt. Toukabou Shigure is an excellent F2P option for Reverse-Melt Kaeya as Elemental Mastery boosts Melt damage.
7) Sunfire Jean
Genshin Impact players can always be creative and build characters in odd ways. Anemo characters are the core support of many teams, but they can also dish out serious damage. One of Jean’s niche combos is Sunfire Jean, where her elemental burst is combined with Bennett’s elemental burst to swirl tons of Pyro onto enemies. Jean will definitely appreciate the Elemental Mastery from Toukabou Shigure.
